This tropical plant thrives in favorable climatic conditions equipped with fertile soil and abundant labor availability.
Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) harvest is about 30 months after planting, depending on the variety of oil palm planted. The harvest will increase sharply until the eighth year, then for the next five years there is no significant increase in yield. In the fifteenth year, the yield will gradually decline. In the 25th year, oil palms enter the “replanting” period. Currently, our garden in South Sumatra is conducting the third year of re-planting. We clear the plants using mechanical equipment instead of the slash-and-burn technique, in accordance with government policy to avoid air pollution.
